ESI’s signature speaker series

The People, Prosperity & the Planet series is a pillar of ESI’s role in convening and engaging on environmental topics, bringing penetrating insights and perspectives on the world’s biggest environmental challenges to MIT and our wider community. Featured speakers have included scientists of international renown like Dr. Carlos Nobre and Dr. Johan Rockstrom; environmental advocates like Veronica Coptis of Coalfield Justice and Nathaniel Stinnett of the Environmental Voter Project; cultural figures like nature author Deborah Cramer and electronic musician Tony McGuinness; and policymakers like Colombia’s former Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development Luis Gilberto Murillo and U.S. Senators Ed Markey, Alex Padilla, Dan Sullivan and Sheldon Whitehouse.
